I’m delighted that my In Practice paper ‘Climate Change and Mental Health: The Rising Tide of Eco-distress’ has just been published in the journal Perspectives in Public Health, and is included in the Special Issue on ‘Global Threats to Mental Health’ (July 2025). The paper is available now on Open Access through Online First at https://doi.org/10.1177/17579139251333289.
Severe eco-distress (eco-anxiety) presents challenges for public mental health provision. There will be increasing need for public mental health preventive action: e.g. education, mental health promotion, and protection; and guidance for mental health professionals on working with these issues.
