Back in the clinic from 12 June 2020

I’m delighted to be able to say that I will be getting back to offering face-to-face therapy physically in my clinic from Friday 12 June 2020. While remote therapy via Zoom has worked very well for many people, it is not appropriate for everyone or all occasions. People may not have sufficient privacy to be able to be themselves when at home, or to say what they want without fear of being overheard.

Therapy is a deeply personal experience, and the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is central to any treatment. There are subtleties of body language and communication that can be lost on a screen. For some, however, communicating via video conference may even be preferable, and opens up greater choice of therapists beyond the local.

So I will continue to offer appointments via Zoom on Monday afternoon/evenings, while offering in-clinic appointments at my Bloomsbury clinic on Friday mornings - just four minutes walk from Holborn and Tottenham Court Road tube stations.

This will no doubt be a gradual process, as people get used to going outside the home in steps and stages. And of course will be subject to the prevailing guidance and risk assessments. But 2-metre distancing is very feasible in my clinic, along with hand sanitizing and hand washing provision and other precautions. I’ve tested it all out and it works well.

So if you feel you would like to start therapy in person (or via Zoom), please don't hesitate to get in contact.
