Types of supervision

I am a GHR Acknowledged Supervisor and offer three types of supervision: one-to-one supervision, group supervision (of 3-4 therapists) and peer support group facilitation (for UKCHH-trained CBH practising therapists).

One-to-one

I offer one-to-one supervision for therapists both novice and experienced. I am also a supervisor for UKCHH students undertaking the Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. I use a tailor-made CBH model of supervision to underpin reflective practice which incorporates supervisee needs, client needs and professional needs. Sessions are of one hour duration.

Group supervision

I offer small-group supervision for 3-4 therapists for 2-hour sessions, which is recognised by GHR as acceptable for CPD purposes alongside or as an alternative to one-to-one supervision. These are either in-person (in Bloomsbury) or via Zoom (but not mixed-mode). Group supervision is generally used to complement one-to-one supervision and is only offered after one-to-one supervision has been entered into.

Peer support group

For over five years I have facilitated the UKCHH Peer Support Group which meets quarterly for 3-hour sessions on a Saturday afternoon, originally in person but more recently since Covid-19 via Zoom which works very well and is now the default model. Typically numbers can vary between 10-20 people, with much of the session spent on case study reflective practice. We have a diversity of experience in the group. Access to the group is via invitation through UKCCH once therapists have qualified in the Diploma in CBH. Peer support can also be recognised by GHR for CPD purposes where other forms of supervision are difficult to access, while also providing valuable additional support and networking.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you are interested in exploring supervision arrangements. Both one-to-one and group supervision are undertaken with a contractual agreement for regular (agreed periodic) supervision sessions, reviewable on an annual basis.
